topic DQL - BIZEVENT alarming in DQL

Hello, how is this great community doing? I have the following question: I have a chart created with bizevent, but I would like to have an alarm associated with the result of this. How can I do this?

Why haven't I been able to create this query as a metric to add it as "abnormal behavior"? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi @Ellery

If I'm reading this right, you want your BizEvents to generate alerts based on the occurrence of your specified DQL output.

If that is the case, you can make use of BizEvent metric extraction .

You can write your DQL which you can then measure the occurrence of that query or a particular attribute.

This new metric can then be associated to a custom alert with metric events 🙂

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Lawrence

Hi @Ellery
What mentions @LawrenceBarratt is correct, but there's another feature you can use. Dynatrace Workflows could help with that without creating a metric, in this case you can trigger a workflow tasks when the conditions you need started... Also, you can send message to MS Teams or Slack channel collaboration.
Reference:

Introduction to workflows - Dynatrace Docs

Dynatrace Tips & Tricks #20 - Automation Workflow Best Practices (youtube.com)

Best regards
-Cesar S.
