Problem

Traces are not being enriched with logs, even though logs are present and are being captured.

Troubleshooting steps

Things to check when automatic log enrichment is not working.

Make sure traces (purepath) related to the flow are also there. The distributed trace must be created first.
Check the Dynatrace OneAgent version. If possible, always use the latest version. You can verify the OneAgent version in the trace by looking at the attributes.

Log monitoring V2 must be enabled for the managed customer or Log on Grail for SaaS.
The enriched logs should have dt.span_id, dt.trace_id, dt.trace_sampled fields, below is an example of a sample log file. Note that if dt.trace_sampled= false implies that the trace related to that log was hit by ATM, and as such, that specific trace won't be available.

Check if the logging framework used is supported. Details are given on the documentation page below.
Make sure you have enabled the feature for Log enrichment at the process group level or global level.
You can do this by following these steps.
- In the Dynatrace menu, go to Settings and select Preferences > OneAgent features.
- Filter for enrichment.
- Enable/disable each log enrichment for each technology that you use to generate ingested log data.
- Select Save changes to save your configuration.
