What is the difference between a EA(Early Adopter) location and a normal location?

Summary

When working with Synthetic Monitoring, you may encounter locations marked as Early Adopter. These locations are newly introduced and still undergoing stabilization. While we do not expect issues, there is a possibility that we may need to remove an Early Adopter location if instabilities occur.

Early Adopter Locations

These are recently added locations that may still experience changes.
If we detect critical issues, we may need to remove the location.
In such cases, we evaluate the best approach case by case:
- We might automatically shift existing monitors to the nearest available location, or
- We may announce the removal and require customers to recreate their monitors.
There is no universal rule for how Early Adopter locations are handled.

GA (Generally Available) Locations

GA locations follow a more predictable and stable policy:

If a GA location is removed, monitors are always automatically migrated to the nearest suitable location.
This ensures continuity without requiring customer action.

Note: It's rare for GA locations to be removed, but it does occasionally happen. Previously, this has been due to reasons beyond our control, such as a data centre being closed by the cloud provider.

Thanks for this clarification @xu_guo. EA always tends to have a risk since its not fully GA. Maybe we can put this or a version of this as a disclaimer text on the location selector page of synthetics?
