Dear All,

According to the documentation “_ActiveGate version 1.175+ has the plugin module installed by default._” Our current _ActiveGate_ version is 1.177.

After successful installation, you should see two running services:

- **Dynatrace Gateway** responsible for running ActiveGate
- _ **Dynatrace Remote Plugin Module** _ responsible for running ActiveGate plugin module

I can see only the following running services on the _ActiveGate._

_dynatraceautoupdater.service loaded active running Dynatrace ActiveGate AutoUpdater service_

_dynatracegateway.service loaded active running Dynatrace ActiveGate service_

It means from 1.175+ version there will be no _ **Dynatrace Remote Plugin Module** _ service.

Regards,

Babar

When you go to Deployment Status =\> ActiveGates, do you see there information that plugin module is installed and active?

It is possible the process is not using enough resource to register if you have not deployed any plugins…

Hi guys

1. Updating AG 171 without remote plugin to 179 didn’t added the remote plugin service - **How can we add the service now**?

2. The same upgrade (171 --\> 179) on different AG with remote plugin service installed finished OK and the remote plugin service is running but on the UI its says that the plugin is inactive, **is that a bug**?.

I think you can issue the command…

```auto
systemctl status remotepluginmodule<br>
```

I am not 100% sure on that though. I only use the…

```auto
systemctl restart remotepluginmodule
```

Keep in mind too that it will require root or the ability to sudo.
