# Credential vault for tokens and passwords in workflows

Some of the actions/tasks may require credentials.  
Will workflows use a credential vault for tokens and passwords?

Workflow actions for integration typically require connecting to third-party systems and coming with their own settings schema. Those connections are then managed in [Dynatrace settings 2.0](https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/settings20-landing). Ad-hoc scripts can leverage both settings and the credential vault via the SDKs.
