Hi to all

if I disable monitoring on a host (settings option in the dynatrace admin console), does the agent continue to consume the outgoing bandwidth when talking with the dynatrace saas environment or is it silent?

Thanks a lot

Hi Frédéric,

as you are able to re-enable monitoring from the console and OneAgent doesn’t open any listening ports on the monitored machine I would assume that it polls the server periodically to check if there has been a change of configuration. So you would still have some traffic.

If you don’t want that you can stop the OneAgent Service from the command line: [https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/deploy-dyna…](https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/deploy-dynatrace/oneagent/setup-tips/how-can-i-stop-restart-oneagent/). You would then have to use the command line again if you want to continue monitoring.

best regards
Franz
