Hello,

My customer is using an IBM server (OS AIX 7.2) with several VMs (LPARs) and some Windows 2019 servers. He would like Dynatrace to monitor the whole thing with a SaaS solution.

I think we should deploy one “OneAgent” per VM, here are my questions:

1- Do I need to deploy an ActiveGate to collect the data? According to the documentation to monitor a VM you need an ActivGate…
2- If yes the ActiveGate needs a dedicated VM, can I install it on a Windows environment and collect the “OneAgents” data from the IBM VMs?
3- How to calculate the needs of this VM for the ActiveGate? (size, memory..)

Thanks in advance,

Philippe

the answers are yes lol. Here is a document for AG sizing [Hardware and system requirements for routing/monitoring ActiveGates on Windows — Dynatrace Docs](https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/setup-and-configuration/dynatrace-activegate/installation/windows/windows-activegate-hardware-and-system-requirements/)
