## 💬 Dynatracer Spotlight

> @noel_david is the kind of person who lights up when a problem gets tricky, which might explain why he’s so good at solving them. Get ready for a great story that started with a friend saying, “Hey, you should check this out”, a frosty Austrian winter, a pandemic-sized plot twist, and a very happy ending in Vienna!

## 💬 Hello! Shed some light on your journey — how did you become a Dynatracer?

> [@](#):
>
> My Dynatrace journey actually started because of a friend. After finishing my master’s in computer science in 2012, I started my IT career in India. In 2019, a friend told me about an opening in customer support at Dynatrace and said, “Hey, you should check this out.” So I thought, why not, and applied.
>
> That eventually brought me to Linz for taster days. In December! Coming from south India, I wasn’t prepared for the Austrian winter. 😄 But the people made up for the weather. I really enjoyed meeting the team and my future manager, and I remember feeling quite quickly that this was a place where I could see myself working.
>
> Then COVID-19 happened and my move to Austria had to be put on hold for a while. When I finally made it over, it was a pretty big change. New country, new job, new life. A lot at once, but definitely an exciting chapter.
>
> Almost three years later, the moving boxes came out again, and I moved to Vienna. I honestly think it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I might be slightly biased now, but I’m okay with that. 😊

## 💬 What do you work on, and what interesting things are you currently involved in?

> [@](#):
>
> I work in customer support, so a lot of my day is spent helping customers with those “Hmm… why is it doing that?” kinds of problems.
>
> That’s actually something I really enjoy about the job. Every case can be a little different, and sometimes you have to dig quite deep before you find out what’s really going on.
>
> I’m also involved in a few things focused on making the support experience better. I’m curious to see how they turn out once they’re rolled out there and being used.

## 💬 Your “aha!” moment with Dynatrace — was there a recent problem you solved using our product?

> [@](#):
>
> I don’t think I have just one “aha!” moment. Working in support, you get quite a few of them!
>
> I especially enjoy log monitoring cases and OneAgent cases. They can feel a bit like detective work. You start with a problem, go through the logs, find a few clues follow them, have a discussion with R&D ,and eventually something clicks: “Ah… that’s what’s happening!”
>
> That moment is always satisfying, especially when you can then explain it to the customer and help them get things working again. For me, that’s one of the best parts of the job.

## 💬 What makes the Dynatrace Community important to you?

> What I really like about the Community is that there’s a good chance someone else has already come across the same problem you’re dealing with.
>
> **“I enjoy sharing troubleshooting tips and things I’ve learned from different cases. If I’ve spent time getting to the bottom of a tricky log problem, and sharing what I learned can save someone else that same effort, then why not?”**
>
> And of course, it works the other way around too. I’ve learned plenty from what other people share. That’s what makes the Community useful for me. We can learn from each other instead of everyone having to figure everything out from scratch.

## 💬 What are your hobbies or passions? What keeps you motivated and brings you the most joy?

> [@](#):
>
> Photography, traveling, and playing badminton are probably the three things I enjoy most outside of work.
>
> My wife, Laura, and I used to travel quite a lot, but things have changed a little since our baby boy, Carl, joined us. 😊 We took a small break, but now getting ready for our biggest trip together yet: meeting the whole family in India and exploring! Traveling with a little one will be a new kind of adventure!
>
> At the moment, though, I’m very happy just spending time with my family. Turns out some of the best weekends don’t require a flight anywhere.
