# Is it or will it be possible to report the length of DNS downtime through Dynatrace?

Is it or will it be possible to report the length of DNS downtime through Dynatrace?

Downtime is calculated by Synthetic monitors, and applications. This is also calculated at a server level, but a collection of servers could server up 1 application so you wont get a true application uptime/availability. But whit a synthetic monitor it will detect the time/percentage that the site is available and is unavailable.
