Hi,

to utilize the TimeSeries API with a custom metrics there seems to be the need to set up a new endpoint. Is there a kind of best practise for this.

Thanks for reading and .. of cause .. very much more for writing ;=).

Greetings, Stefan

Hi [@StefanMarx](https://community.dynatrace.com/user/60899), were you able to resolve that on your own? If so, the Community would really appreciate if you shared your findings in the comments 😊

(and if you haven’t, let’s bring this post back up so more people can see it and share their experience)

Hi[@StefanMarx](https://community.dynatrace.com/user/60899),

I’d recommend using the [Metrics v2 API](https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/dynatrace-api/environment-api/metric-v2) with custom metrics as a best practice—especially if you’re setting up something new. The [Timeseries v1 API](https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/dynatrace-api/environment-api/metric-v1) has a comparatively smaller feature set.

Take care,
Nick
