Since I’m pretty tall myself, I thought I’d introduce you to the smallest owl in Europe. The pygmy owl, found mainly in Poland. Tiny, fierce, and totally unique, it’s a perfect contrast to me

Hello guys!
I’m kinda late to reply to this topic (I was on vacation 😎). But here we go, I’m from Rio Grande do Sul, the last state on the south of Brazil, this permits us to have a unique fauna and bioma, the Pampas! The most iconic animal we have is the Quero-Quero (Vanellus chilensis).

As I was born in Canada, I’m a great fan of beavers. Was quite shocked some weeks ago that they were thriving in the Netherlands, but also creating havoc: [link](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/aug/28/beavers-netherlands-tunnels-environmental-flooding-culls)

Hi! This is the Andean Condor, Colombia´s National Animal.

It is a majestic symbol of Colombia’s wild landscapes and natural heritage. With its massive wingspan—up to 3 meters—it soars effortlessly over the Andes, embodying freedom, strength, and endurance. Revered in Andean mythology and featured on Colombia’s national coat of arms, the condor represents the spirit of the mountains and the deep connection between nature and culture.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fila Brasileiro (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈfilɐ bɾaziˈlejɾu]) is a Brazilian breed of large working dog of mastiff type.
It is used as a guard dog, for cattle herding and for big-game hunting; it may also be kept as a companion dog or pet. In the eighteenth century, when slavery was still legal in Brazil, the Fila Brasileiro was used to return escaped slaves to their owners.

The first written standard of the breed was edited in 1946. The Paulistas were responsible for organizing a planned breeding program and opening a stud book to register dogs. Dr. Paulo Santos Cruz began to systematically breed the Fila Brasileiro and also contributed to setting the CAFIB standard.

I had a pair of peafowls when I was a child on my family’s farm; it was an event every time he courted the female by opening his beautiful tail.

In Perú, **The Andean rock rooster (Rupicola peruvianus)**, also known as the _Gallito de las Rocas_, is Peru’s national bird and one of the most striking species of the tropical Andes. Famous for its vibrant orange-red plumage and prominent fan-shaped crest, the male rock rooster is a true spectacle during its mating displays, where it performs elaborate dances to attract females.

This bird inhabits the cloud forests of the Andean slopes, thriving in humid, high-altitude environments. Beyond its dazzling appearance, it represents the extraordinary biodiversity of Peru and the Amazon basin. For locals and travelers alike, spotting a rock rooster in its natural habitat is an unforgettable experience, making it a powerful cultural and ecological symbol of Peru.
