Nostalgia πŸ˜€ I started with MSN messenger for chatting and red alert as a daily game πŸ˜Ž ![Slider-img1b.jpg](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/2/7/2777d98556a6a49564a51bacc38dd0b8cb756a5e.jpeg) ![6179a66e5f9cc70024c6cee8_what-happened-to-msn-messenger1 (1) (1).jpeg](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/1X/b5b0f3695e9284fe92252a6e177c458efe5d0245.jpeg) ---

My Nostalgia will start with before Internet was used at home – Tandy 1000 EX. This will start my love with computers.  My dad told my mom he needs to read the instructions before we setup.  Did my mom and I listen?  No way! ![Kenny_Gillette_0-1682940877523.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/c/8/c87e2c9cc030db725c10ad30761a45ed016767f1.png) I got addicted to games real quick that were from Sierra like Kings Quest, Police Quest and Space Quest.  Look at those graphics. ![Kenny_Gillette_1-1682940877533.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/a/9/a9218a65d651ef8ddab22840ed7989bc60393fef.png) My first interaction with the Internet was in college and sending emails to other people at colleges or looking up different items on the Internet.  Amazing how far we have come! ---

I remember that I used ICQ then MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger using dial-up connection πŸ˜€ ---

1986? Atari 800XL with a Zenith Mono monitor, Epson FX-85 printer, and a 300 baud modem that I’d dial to various BBS. [compuserve.com](http://compuserve.com) email address. No hard drive - software was loaded from 5-1/4" floppy disk. ![IMG_20230503_172026887.jpg](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/d/c/dc66c9aa684148fe4450277f03fa48747c447bfb.jpeg) ---

Well, I hadn’t have the privilege of experience the early days of the Internet, so my nostalgia is quite short, when compared to so many historical events here πŸ˜› My first experience was with the old Hotmail, when I created my first email account at school! ![PedroDeodato_1-1683643182560.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/3/4/34f76fb9d28912f6d2565fa963bebf77e4b90183.png) As with many here, all things back then revolved around fun & games (literally!), and here in Portugal a really popular website was Jogos10 (β€œGames10”): ![PedroDeodato_3-1683643508055.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/2X/0/0af7ec4db87b6375679d3347e93c44123b7ba9c7.png) And, of course, Miniclip: ![PedroDeodato_4-1683643551011.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/3/3/334ca112a3d7896742643c67967faa46b6e30a39.png) ---

Didn’t have the opportunity to use Internet that time but had a big fat computer in the house where I would randomly play games and watch videos. It started from this clippy. then there was sheep.exe. MS paint was another wonder for me and never ending fun with talk it. Also who else loved playing the windows version of DX- Ball? ![jarinmusarrat_0-1683730925686.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/2X/5/59d2e202d664c1766c62bc33429cae9593ad785d.png) ![jarinmusarrat_1-1683731144045.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/2X/8/8d896fd901e3a3994f60745defe418dd4df6eea1.png) ![jarinmusarrat_2-1683731236041.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/e/1/e1eca069d9259252bb9ce8e1d20865a54ed3d179.png) ![jarinmusarrat_3-1683731331875.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/8/1/81c51a928a0ef028637b230dda8323daba78fae4.png) ![jarinmusarrat_4-1683731758068.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/2X/8/8e37621a4d137dd38ccccd5ba5293bfcf60d9cf1.png) ---
