I’m creating Browser Synthetic monitors.
After creation, the monitor name remains with the default format SYNTHETIC\_TEST-XXXX, even though I explicitly change the Monitor Name field in the configuration and save the changes.

Hi,
It should work.

Please try the following: Open the Browser Synthetic test --\> Click View settings --\> In the Monitor name field, change the name --\> Save the changes.

![t_pawlak_0-1766953640838.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/original/3X/9/d/9da9fb33134e841f0ae29c1dc28b4523af341897.png)

After saving, the monitor should display the updated name correctly instead of the default SYNTHETIC\_TEST-XXXX.

If it still doesn’t update:

- Refresh the page or re-open the test
- Make sure you’re editing the monitor name, not only the test description

I’ve renamed the monitor multiple times, however it still keeps the SYNTHETIC\_TEST-\* name.

Additionally, when I create a dashboard, **both names appear**

![just23k2_3-1766954547215.png](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/dynatrace/optimized/3X/c/7/c79a065f2c43debf36ba51776e736fc8c7063c1d_2_690x32.png)

(the auto-generated SYNTHETIC\_TEST-\* and the custom name).

I’ve tested several options and noticed the following:

- This behavior **only happens with Browser synthetic monitors**
- For **HTTP synthetic monitors** , the dashboards display the correct synthetic monitor name without duplication

So far, the issue seems to be specific to **Browser monitors** , not HTTP monitors.

The url will always contain the monitor ID rather than the monitor name.

- What name is shown in the list of Synthetic monitors? As [@t\_pawlak](https://community.dynatrace.com/user/42367) showed in his screenshot, I would expect the updated name to show there.
- What query/ config are you using for your dashboard?

Thanks
