# What privileges are currently required to create and manage synthetic monitors in the new Synthetic app in the latest Dynatrace?

What permission is necessary to create synthetic monitors in the new Synthetic application?

Currently, the&nbsp;tenant-level&nbsp;permission&nbsp;environment:roles:manage-settings&nbsp;is&nbsp;required&nbsp;to create synthetic monitors in the new Synthetic application.

_Your assigned access control policies are missing the following permissions:_

_Missing permissions:&nbsp;environment:roles:manage-settings_

_App name: Synthetic_

_App ID:&nbsp;dynatrace.synthetic_

This is a&nbsp; **temporary limitation** , and the Synthetic team is actively working on addressing it. Over the next two quarters, our goal is to develop a modern, fully integrated access control mechanism that aligns with the Dynatrace platform, specifically for managing Synthetic configurations and data.

**Temporary workaround**

If you do not have the mentioned permission, you can use&nbsp; **Synthetic Classic** &nbsp;as an alternative for creating monitors until the new access control mechanism is implemented.
