I'd like to know the maximum size of 'Total Disk Quota' that appmon program can recognize.
For confirming long term data, we'd like to set 3TB to 'Total Disk Quota'.
So, Is setting 3TB avairable? ,or what is the maximum size that can be set for session storage?
I had customers with several TB of session storage. The limiting factor would be your filesystem - which usually have limits beyond the physical or monetary limits of the storage systems.
Also note that AppMon writes the sessions in roughly 4-5GB chunks, not a single file. So no limits there as well.
There should not be any issue with the 3TB because nowadays this is a normal size to store the PurePaths data for 7 to 10 days and I guess even you can go beyond this size in case you don't feel the performance degradation of the AppMon server but I would recommended 2 TB size if you are not keeping PurePaths data too long.
You can review the below link especially for the minimum reservations.
I think there should be no issue with performance but I see couple of issues. First is limit of parallel open files if multiple users are requesting data from different time. Second is this reading process in general. Storage should be efficient I think and all should be fine. I've never had more than 4TB bu I know how slow can Appmon be when storage has poor performance.
It depends of file system and configuration as I remember, it may be configured but I don’t know exact limits. Question is as well about number of files stored on storage. This may be issue as well. Discuss it with storage admins, they should know
Hello @sebastian k.

The storage allocated to your server is block storage – not file storage(NAS).
So it does not care about what files you store or open. It only sees blocks of data sent to it. The measure for block storage is I/O’s.
In theory, the controller can handle millions of I/O’s per second – depending on the block size you write/read at. So, no limit in terms of files open.
