Agents not showing up for one of the DT AppMon Client user but rest other AppMon Users can see the required agent details. What could be the possible reason for only one of the user who is not able see the required agents details. On the same server, the user is able to see the other agent.

Hello @Deepan R.

Are they local or AD users?

Do they belong to a same local or AD group?

Do they have same permission levels?

Have a look on the below link for permissions mapping.

Babar

The question is as well where those agents are missing? Agents overview or on transaction flow as well? On Appmon 7.1 plus sometimes views are empty until you click on blue bar on top of dashboard. I don’t know what is reason of this but I’ve problem with figure it out some time ago 🙂

Thanks Babar and Sebastian for the response

@Babar they belong to AD group and they have the same permission level. The user was able to see the other agents details in the agent overview without any issue and only few agents was not showing up in the agent overview post restart of those agents.

@Sebastian Agents were not showing up on Agents overview and will give it a try on the solution that you have suggested and will get back to you.

Thanks and regards,

Deepan

Hi Babar and Sebastian,

To be more specific, on the same host there are two different application hosted and the concerned user is able to see the agents from one of the application whereas for the other application nothing(WebServer/.NET agent) comes up.

Thanks and regards,

Deepan

The question is if both applications are on the same system profile?

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Yes, it is connecting to two different system profiles, however the user has access to both the profiles.

Moreover the user was able to see the agents till last week.

Thanks and regards,

Deepan

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the help, the user was not having the access to correct system profile and now the issue is resolved.

Thanks and regards,

Deepan

Good to read 🙂

One thing that may explain this (in v7.0) is if the user is using the 'agent breakdown' menu option (in Featured Dashlets under their system profile in the cockpit). If no application traffic was occurring the agent would not be listed there. Of course, selecting the Agent Overview menu option at the higher level in the cockpit would show all agents.
