AppMon - UEM with Loadrunner

Hello,

Is it possible to use the tool HP Loadrunner and get the UEM measure of AppMon?

I know there is an integration process between Loadrunner and AppMon but from what I understand this is for the web requests. Any possibility to do the test with UEM?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Antoine Buffotot

UEM is based on JavaScript that is running in the end users browser. If Loadrunner offers to generate load by running real browsers (similar to a Selenium script) the Dynatrace JS code should be executed and be able to monitor the end user performance. I know that Silk Performer offers such a mode (https://community.microfocus.com/borland/test/silk_performer_-_application_performance_testing/b/weblog/posts/testing-ajax-enabled-web-applications-protocol-level-vs-bdlt), maybe something similar exists for loadrunner.

But I would assume that it runs as many browsers as possible on a single box since it is all about generating as much load as possible. Therefore the performance in the browser will not reflect the actual performance of your end users.

Adding on to this, if you record with LR (or any other web-based load testing tool) in a Browser while UEM is on, you will record the dtagent.js call and the dynaTraceMonitor call. This will result in fake timing data being pushed to dynaTraceMonitor and you strictly want to exclude/delete those from your tests

If you use TruClient-web (firefox/IE) for scripting you can leverage UEM.
