AppMon database agent alerting potential limitation

Hi,

It would appear that it is only possible to generate alerts from the appmon database agent when it is mapped to a specific system profile. I understand that the system profile mapping is determined via detected calls to the monitored database within a purepath, and consequently maps the database agent to the same system profile that the purepath belongs too.

My question is; what happens when i don't have application agents installed in the same environment that my monitored database belongs too and no purepaths are being generated? If the database agent relies on purepaths from another agent type to exploit the alerting capability, it would seem that this is a severe limitation.

If your database does not automatically map to a given profile, why not just manually map it to a new profile for the purposes of viewing and acting up on the data coming from that database agent.

How can I manually map the database agent to a system profile?
