Application Process Out-of-Memory and Incident Acknowledgement

BabarQayyum

Dear All,

As we aware that if execution is set for the beginning and
end of an incident, and the incident has a duration of 0 seconds (the start and
end time are the same), then the action will only be executed once.

Application Process Out-of-Memory incident always has a 0
second duration, therefor, only the begin incident trigger.

Is there a way to receive the acknowledgment/end incident?

Regards,

Babar

Hi Babar,

if you change the incident rule to "on incident begin and end" you will receive the starting and ending of incidents.

Thanks,

It might just be an incident that doesn't have an "end." The app process out of memory ones are detected when the monitored processes start having out of memory exceptions and pretty much always result in the process dying. It's a single event as opposed to a period of violation.

I normally look to the application process unavailable incident start and end to see if the process/agent comes back online.

James

Hello James,

Thank you for your answer.

Basically not all the time process will be unavailable in this situation e.g.

Labels: Automatically triggered by Out-of-Memory notification at Mon Apr 09 13:13:06 AST 2018 and at this time only the below incident triggered with the 0s duration.
