Automatically modify timeframes

Hi Community,

We have a report prepared to analyse our three peak hours. How we are doing this is by setting custom timeframes using custom, and setting these three intervals. We are only interested in the count from this and the splitting results.

Currently, each day we have to open each of the BT's and modify the custom timeframes. There are 12 BT's that make this, each having 3 custom timeframes - 36 edits each day!

Maybe someone out there can think of a smarter way for us to do this? The XML file doesn't show the custom timeframes for us to edit (I know this is frowned upon anyway). Perhaps the approach will be to use a text/measurement for each BT and splitting value using a filter on each dashlet.

Gary,

If you change your time frames to "Last X" you should have the ability to say "Last X hours shift by 1h/2h/3h". Then just set the "starting point" on your dashboard from when to count backwards. Like in your example, you'd set your dashboard to display data from 6:00-7:00 and set the others to...

- Last 1h Shift by 2h (4:00 - 5:00)

- Last 1h Shift by 1h (5:00 - 6:00)

- Last 1h (6:00 - 7:00)

You can verify whether it works by holding your cursor over the "link" that says your timeframe at the top of each column and it will verify what timeframe you're looking at.

That should come out the way you're looking for and cut down the amount of manual effort to generate the report.

EDIT: Got the timeshift wrong, this should be correct 🙂

Thank you very much, Andy! 🙂
