We just have java agents (not the HOST agents).

Can java agents be used for apache kafka consumers (JAVA apis based)I am trying to hook DT agent with the consumer process but doesn't work.

I tried with java based web UI and it worked.

I get below error message:

I have provided the remote collector IP address in the agent config file.

2017-11-28 13:37:33 [23ff8821] warning [native] Connection::connect(): Address resolution for 'localhost' returned multiple addresses. Using first returned: 127.0.0.1

For Java, the Collector address needs to be set in the command line instead of with the config file, like:

"agentpath:/opt/dynatrace/agent/lib64/libdtagent.so=name=my_agent_name,server=collector.mycompany.net:9998"

Yes. That's how it is. Passed as the JVM argument. Yet am not sure why is it trying to connect to the local (127.0.0.1) collector.

-agentpath:/home/lpatil001c/dynatrace-7.0/agent/lib64/libdtagent.so=name=CC_AppAgent,server=collectorhost:6698

this looks correct. i would open a ticket
