Change Specifc Agent Default Wait Time Value

steven_marrocco

We currently have a jvm that uses a wrapper conf file to initialize its arguments. This wrapper will wait 20 seconds for the jvm to start up, once that time is exceeded the jvm startup will fail.

Unfortunately, this is the exact amount of time the dt agent tries to connect to the collector. We just experienced an issue (our collectors are currently down for upgrades) where the JVM failed to start because of the dynatrace agent wait time is the same length as its own.

Is there any way to change the wait time amount specific to the agent?

Hello Steven,

You can change the timeout by applying the wait=<seconds> parameter to your agent config string.

Check the below link before changing the default time:

Hi Babar,

Thank you, adding wait=5 to our argument fixed our issue.
