Collector Upgrade V7.1.1 on Linux Maschine

christian_wegha

Hello,

we migrated our environment from DynaTrace V6.5 to V7.1

We had one external collector on a linux machine and we expected this would upgrade like the agents do automatically but it did not. Is this a normal behaviour?

Please advice. Thank you for support in advance.

Regards,

Christian

Hello Christian,

This happens when you update the Dynatrace but in case of migration you will have to install a new version of the collector and then migrate the existing configuration of the collector.

So this means we need to install a new collector on the external machine?

Do we have to uninstall the old one at first? I didnt find anything about what we need to save from the configuration.

Thanks.

Hello Christian,

You don't need to install the existing collector on the first stage. Once installed and configured the new collector then after few days you can uninstall.

Migration is necessary to keep the existing configuration you have done in the collector otherwise you will have to configure in the new collector once again.
