Configure Idle Time-out Settings for an Application Pool

Since the default 20 minute timeout for IIS App Pool .NET worker processes causes our agents to disconnect every time a timeout occurs, has anyone set theirs to no longer timeout to workaround this issue?

For example, for IIS 7:

If you have used a longer timeout successfully to keep your agents up or tried it but abandoned it for some reason, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,

dave

Dave, I have had customers increase the service startup timeout value to acomodate longer start times due to the Agent injected. I'm not sure if this is the situation you're experiencing.

No, I am referring to the issue of w3wp.exe processes dying after 20 minutes of inactivity, which causes "unexpected" agent disconnects and incidents.
