Connection to new PWH when migrate the server

DynaMight Advisor

Hi all,

we've installed the AppMon 7.1 version to migrate serveral parts of one 6.5 installation. The new AppMon 7.1 server have to connect to a new PWH but we've migrated several parts of the 6.5 installation to a this new server (with the migratio tool).

So, now I've to start the server to try the new installation but I want to assure the new AppMon 7.1 Server will not try to connect to the 6.5 PWH (to not upgrade their schema), can I assure this? Also i we put one trial license to my new server?

Hello @Josep Maria C.

What are the several parts of migration from 6.5 version?

If you already have done with the files tobemigrated and as prerequisites you have taken the backup of the PWH then you should not have any situation. Below are the supported databases version for the 7.1 release.

  • Oracle 10g/11g/12c
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 / 2014 / 2016
  • IBM DB2 Version 9.7 / 9.8 / 10.1 / 10.5 / 11.1
  • PostgreSQL 9.2 / 9.3 / 9.4 / 9.5 / 9.6 / 10.0

Verify that the configured Performance Warehouse user has the permissions to create and drop tables for the DBMS.

One more thing to keep in mind that before connecting to the PWH you should update the latest version of the 7.1 release.

Below link is about the performance warehouse migration troubleshooting.

Hi Babar,

I only want to assure the new version will not try to connect to the actual PWH when starting the server, can I assume that?

Hello @Josep Maria C.

Just make sure in the below location for the old PWH entries.

Hi Josep,

after the migration with the migration tool and before starting the server, you can delete the "<DT_HOME>/server/conf/repository.config.xml" as mentioned by Babar. Then the PWH connection, user etc will not be available.

Best regards,
