Correlation between AppMon and Loadrunner

Hi,

I have a question about Loadrunner, a test tool.

In my company, we have both dynatrace agents and loadrunner account. When I got request from customer about test, I thought that I will test a system with loadrunner and monitor that system with dynatrace Appmon. But I found out there is a relation between dynatrace and loadrunner. So I tried "Convert LoadRunner Scripts" and patched, but I don't know what to do with it, and how to test system with it.

So here's my question.

1. Is there guide or other document about how to test with loadrunner and dynatrace? I just finished converting loadrunner script..

2. What is the advantages of testing with converted loadrunner script compared to just testing with loadrunner and monitoring with AppMon?

Thanks.

Kisu,

All you need to do now is run a load test with the converted scripts. What the happens behind the scenes is a dynatrace header is added to each web request/transaction name and data in Dynatrace will now reflect the transaction names you see in your Load Runner Dashboard. The advantage to doing the integration is it aligns data (transaction names) in Load Runner with Dynatrace Load Test dashboard, tagged web requests dashlet, and purepath names. If you don't do it Dynatrace is still very valuable but you will be looking at urls instead of transaction names you defined in your Load Runner script.

To analyze the load test in Dynatrace open the Load Test Overview Dashboard. If a transaction is slow or failed you can diagnose it very quickly.
