Database configuration for Windows Event Log Monitor

Hello,

our customer has asked us if the table created for the Windows Event Log Monitor [dbo].[EventLog], could be impacted by updates or version upgrades.

In the case we want to create a dedicated DB where creating this table, how this DB has to be configured? We are using SQL server.

Thanks in advance

Simone

Hello @Simone N.

Maybe I am not understanding the exact requirement and just guessing that you are wondering about the table space.

Database agent can provide you this information out of the box in the 'Live' view and much more.

Have a look on the below link.

Hi Babar,

I was not clear in describing what I need.

I am talking about the "Windows Event Log Plugin":

https://community.dynatrace.com/community/x/8C9mCg...

As you can see, in order to install this plugin we have to create a table on the Dynatrace's DB, called [dbo].[EventLog]. In our infrastructure, our DB is running on SQL Server.

What i need to know are the following informations:

- if i create this table in the same DB used by dynatrace, may i risk impacts if i make update/upgrade to my DT server?

- if I risk impacts, i would create the table in another, dedicated, DB on my server. But I don't find how this DB should be configured.

I hope now my question is clearer.

Thanks in advance

Simone
