Database connection pool not appearing

The Database connection pool information is missing for an application we are monitoring.

This is a Websphere AS that uses Oracle and JDBC. Any ideas as to why this would be missing? I am suspecting that a full pool is causing other issues and would like to confirm.

Have you restarted your monitored JVM since initially getting injected with dynatrace agent? Under certain circumstances, a restart is required to properly see JDBC data.

Yeah these JVM's are bounced on a daily basis.

Jacob,

I'd recommend that you open a support ticket.

In the meantime, you may be able to get some useful data from a JMX measure. Go to System Profile -> Measures -> Create Measure and type 'jmx' to search for and bring up the different types of JMX measures available.

Hi Graeme,

I am facing same issue on IBM WAS server.

Is there any impact on performance of Application if we enable JMX in production environment ?

Jalpesh Shelar

Hello @Jalpesh S.

Remember that the custom JMX can increase the overhead and performance impact on the application.
