Differential measure in custom monitor plugin ?

Arnaud_GERMAIN

Hi,

Hi,

I'm currently developing a custom LDAP monitor and the values I get from my
LDAP servers can be absolute values like "Cache Hit", "Cache
Miss", "Number of operation" since the starting of the LDAP
Server.

I'd like to get differential values instead in order to get measures “per
sec” more like

"Cache Hit / sec", "Cache Miss /sec", "Number of
operation / sec". This only requires to have the previous measure and do
the differences between current and previous value.

That would be feasible on the dynatrace side quite easily I think but I did
not find any “differential flag” in measure description.

Do you know if this is possible ?

Regards

Hi Arnaud,

I don't believe that option is available out-of-the-box. I do know that people in the past have put additional code in their plugins to achieve custom values like the one you are looking for. Since you are already developing your own custom LDAP monitor/plugin, this should be as simple as using the previous captured value to calculate the difference, storing the current captured value, and then sending that calculated value as your measure result.
