Dear All,

We are planning to migrate the Dynatrace Server and Dynatrace Collectors from the Windows platform to Linux.

Did anyone has done this? If Yes

What are the best practices?

Any expected/unexpected consequences to this move?

Regards,

Babar

Hi Babar!

I did it. It's just migration using export\import data, PPs storage and PWH. I didn't have any issues there

Hello Vlad,

Thank you for your information that you already had successfully gone through with this migration.

Did you mean that the migration tool has used to migrate the server and collectors?

We have a session storage on the SAN, so is there any thing which will need to be considered?

We will keep the PWH (MS SQL) on the Windows, is there any compatibility issue?

Would you mind to share your steps you have taken while the migration and the situations in case you had faced any.

Regards,

Babar

Hi Babar,

it is supported and tested - as you mentioned we recommend the migration tool for such a process. The only thing to be expected is that custom absolute paths need to be adapted. So eg to replace the session storage location from d:\session to /opt/...

Regards,

Thomas

The PWH is accessed in a platform independent way, this should work also.
