Dynatrace client on mac - Fails to open.

Hi - I have installed the dynatrace jnlp file from my server portal.
When I try to open using java webstart, it silently fails with no errors
in system logs.

Further digging, looks like dynatrace logs are burried in ~/.dynatrace/<logs>

I see following warning (error) in Client.log. It looks like a generic warning but app do not comeup.

env:
OSx = 10.10.5
java version "1.8.0_65"

@chakri,

There have been few cases where the Web Start client does not open for MAC users. The problem has been with Java 1.7, but in your case you are already at 1.8.

Although, I have found a reference to one of the tickets "For reference, the issue does not lay necessarily with the DT install. More so, the issue is with OSX. Yosemite does not install the java required files correctly by default when the OS is installed. I reinstalled Java and the client fired up perfectly and is working like a charm."

You are also at OS X Yosemite, so I would recommend to re-install Java, and try again. Let us know if the client comes up.

Hi

Here is some feedback from the engineering team who has seen this thread and wanted to make sure we tell you what we think happens and what the possible workarounds are:

The problem is within the JVM that is delivered by Apple. We have been doing tests internally - also on Java 1.8 but still ran into this issue. The only workarounds that we suggest work well are to either use the Standalone Dynatrace Client or the Dynatrace Portable Client which you can download from the product download page

Cheers

Is there any update or is this issue ongoing ... I have and end user experiencing the same issue with similar errors in the client logs
