Exporting dynamic measures to elastic search via Purelytics stream

Hi All,

Due to the restrictions in the tile limits (16) in the web dashboard we are trying to find an alternative to visualize the real time data in web dashboard as we need many tiles in single dashboard for monitoring purpose.

Is it possible to stream the dynamic measures value or measures and it's value created by monitors

real time to elastic search as like UEM data using pure lytics stream.

Purelytics is for UEM data only. However you could use Business Transaction Feed to push any arbitrary measures to an external consumer via a protobuf definition.

Rumor has it that the 16 tile limit will be resolved in a soon future release. In the meantime you might consider using the Rich Client interface which does not have the 16 limit.

Its not only a rumor 🙂 - it is true. The limitation goes away with 7.0. Some "magical" things will be possible with the WebUI

Hi Sakthi,

I do not believe there is any way to stream monitor measures. We offer the UEM stream and the Business Transaction Feed, but Monitor data cannot be sent by either of these. You could potentially create a dashboard and then consume that dashboard via the REST API to get that data to a different web charting client.

Dave is correct, the only way I have achieved the consumption of monitor data by making dashboards and then have them consumed by another tool (like splunk) by having it run a script to query the dashboard via the REST API. Please also see THIS RFE.

Thanks all for your responses. Looks like the tiles limit will be increased in dynaTrace 7. Hoping to see some workaround for dynaTrace 6.5. Will try out the alternative workarounds posted.
