Hello,

It's a disk problem on your Windows server, i guess : insufficient security rights, defragmentation,...

Check it with your OPS Team.

Regards,

Mathieu

Yeah most of the stuff I found seemed to point to fragmentation: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/967351/a-heavily-fragmented-file-in-an-ntfs-volume-may-not-grow-beyond-a-cert

@Mathieu C. @James K. thanks for the advice. defragmentation is currently running on appmon server, hopefully it will help to resolve the issue. update again if it helps in resolving this issue.

@Mathieu C. @James K. problem reoccurred after fragmentation was done. do you have any other suggestion? will removing and readd the plugin helps to reset everything?

Hello Rachel

I'don't think because the problem isn't in the plugin or AppMon but in your server.

Try to follow the procedure of Microsoft on the link shared by James.

Mathieu

Hi @Matthieu.C referring to Rachel’s comment. They have Windows 2012 Server, the patch addressed the disk issue on W2K08. So you pointing that the issue is problem with the server system disk. Do you have a working example to share with the same plugin working well on W2K12 server? Pls advice. Many thanks!!!

Hello Tew,

Sorry, no example to share.

For Windows 2012, you can try this solution :

Hi @Mathieu C.

The volume formatted with the large FRS using the command “Format <Drive:> /FS:NTFS /L”
I am not sure does Dynatrace AppMon requires to run in large FRS.

From the workaround shared in the KB article, customer confirmed there is no NTFS compression and windows deduplication. Hence the workarounds do not apply.

Hello Tew,

Sorry, i have no more way.

I think it's really a Windows problem so you could ask help on Windows Forum.

Good luck!

Mathieu
