Help on including Oracle/DB2 Exceptions at Sensor Pack / Sensor Configuration level

Hi there,

what I'd like to achieve is include the following exception packages:

Oracle exceptions: in the java.sql package and

DB2 exceptions: in the com.ibm.websphere and com.ibm.db2 packages

As you are well aware, by default AppMon excludes exceptions in the following packages:

- Java.* (on Exception sensor agent group configuration)

- Com.ibm.* (on Exception sensor)

How can I achieve that? Considering that might not be a big deal for the IBM inclusion but what about the java ones, as by default, the "Include all but exclude these" rule is applied?

Thanks in advance for your precious help.

Cheers,

Raff

Hey Raff,

We had a similar requirement but there is no direct way to accomplish this. We had to include all java SQL exceptions and this is what we did. For the specific agent group you go to Sensor Configuration -> Exceptions -> Properties and set it to "Include all and exclude these". In the screenshot you can see the "java." class is unchecked and all other classes are checked off. This will ensure SQL exceptions are picked up.

Thanks Stan!

Hi Raff,

Alternatively you can modify the OOTB java exception sensor via debug mode. However, I would check after patches/upgrades to see if the changes are still there...
