Hi Team

We have a requirement to deploy database agents. We have just configured database under settings-->dynatrace server-->databases-->create. entering the database type, agent name, collector, host, instance, db user and password details. We got connected to database and able to view the data. Could you please clarify if this is the correct procedure or do we need to deploy agent on database server? If agent is deployed, what kind of data would be captured.

Thanks&Regard

Siva

The database "agent" is more akin to to a monitor in that it connects remotely from a collector as opposed to having a real agent on the database server so you have it all set up correctly and nothing else is required.

If desired you could install a standard host monitoring agent on the server to get some OS level metrics but nothing more specifically around the database.

Thank you James
