Host Performance Measures

When creating other types of measures (PurePath, Agent based) Application Monitoring does not go back and historically process data to populate the new measure. However, when I create new Host Performance measures that are not automatically subscribed to on the System Profile e.g. Memory Utilization measure, I am able to see data points from before the measure was created.

Why might this be?

Hi James

Good question. I think the agent is collecting this data anyway but it is simply not accessible in case you dont actually create a measure. Whereas the PurePath based measures are really not calculated unless you create a measure

This is correct. Purepath based measures will not begin calculating the value for the custom measure until it is created. A host performance based measure is based off data already calculated and is simply filtered.
