How agent hours consumption goes when one perpetual license slot is available again?

Hi all,

How agent hours consumption goes when one perpetual license slot is available again, after agent consuming agent hours, is still connected?

I will give an example scenario to illustrate what I mean. Let's suppose that:

  • I have 10 perpetual agent licenses and 1000 agent hours;
  • Then I have 10 agents running, consuming all perpetual agent licenses;
  • Next, I start the 11th agent, that will begin to consume agent hours;
  • After, I stop the 10th agent that was using the perpetual agent license;
  • The final scenario is: I have 9 agents related to perpetual agent license and 1 agent consuming agent hours.

Assuming that I do not have setup any license assignments, what is expect to happen?
Will the 11th agent (that is consuming agent hours) automatically start to use the free slot available at the perpetual agent license? Or will it stay consuming agent hours even though that there is a free perpetual agent license available? @Kurt A.

Thanks,

Hello Gabriel,

I have tested this on AppMon 7.0 - update 7.0.13.1014.

AppMon automatically handles the agent hours giving priority to the PERM license.
So if an agent is connected using Agent Hours (the case of that 11th agent), and a perm license is freed, then it stops consuming the agent hours, and changes the agent to consume the perm license.

Regards,
