How do I capture user input values in UEM?

When I look at the visits dashlet, the user actions look like "Action: keypress <RETURN> on "FIELDNAME"

How do I capture what the user had entered in the field?

Hi Eric,

Depending on how that user data is being sent forwards you have a few options, for example, method argument, URL query parameter, request attribute, etc. - these are the most reliable ways to capture content.

There is one other way to capture page content, via Metadata. This is done via UEM Settings (System Profile -> User Experience -> Metadata). It allows you to define a page element/content via tag name, CSS selector, or javascript variable, giving its ID. After you define it in here, you can create a "UEM -> Business Transaction Evaluation..." -> Page actions - Metadata" measure and start capturing that info inside the measure.

You can read more about it here: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/doc/appmon/short...

Best regards,

Radu
