How do I get success count by negating failure count from total count of a BT tracking a json call?

I have obtained failure count of a json call. I also have tracked the total count of the json call. Will I be able to get the Success count by simply subtracting failure from total count? Is this negation possible in Dynatrace?

Hi Lakshmi,

you could try adding a filter in a Business transaction that contains only 200 as a value which would indicate a success. This can be found in system profile under http response code measure.

Hello,

If the requirement is to have a report showing total number of transactions, number of failed transactions (based on out of the box rule to classify a transaction as failed / custom rule), and number of successful transaction (based on the criteria that the entry point/1st node on the call stack returns a http 200 / custom) --> then --> create a BT with an appropriate filter (Since the requirement is to track specific json calls you would add that criteria to the filter measure), then under calculate results leave the checks on 'failure rate' and 'response time and count', then additionally add a new metric by creating a new measure by selecting Transaction based - HTTP Response Status Code and enter value equals 200 and set the Occurence on PurePath to 'entry point' (or define a custom measure based on the success criteria). Further, if you have a specific failure criteria then you can create a measure on that and add it to the result calculation as well. --> this BT will provide all data points you are looking for i.e total, failed (based on out of the box rule / custom rule), and successful (based on http 200 or custom rule).

Hope this helps!
