How long does the collector retain information when disconnected from the server?

Currently the client has collectors in different locations, sometimes there are network problems and information is lost, how long does the collector have the ability to retain the information and then to be sent to the server?

This will entirely depend on how much heap is allocated to the collector process and how much data and events are being handled by the collector. Lower data levels and higher heap will make this period longer and higher data levels and a lower amount of heap will make the retention period shorter.

From this documentation page:

If the Server fails due to a hardware or software failure, the Collectors buffer data for a period of time, ranging from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes depending on load and Collector heap configuration. As a result, no PurePaths or measurements are lost if the Server is started again within this period.

One reason this won't be a large amount of time though is I believe that if the server receives events too late it discards them from analysis.
