How to reinstall Collector without uninstall of dynaTrace server on the same machine?

Hi All,

The collector couldn't get connected to dynaTrace server, and I want to reinstall it, but it will always promote me that the dynaTrace is already installed and exit, how can I just reinstall Collector without uninstall other component in the same machine?

Hello,

I do not think that this is possible through the collector installer.

If you have used the complete installer first, I guess if you open it again, you will have the option to reinstall some/all of the components.

BTW, why are you trying to reinstall it? Is the reason that it cannot connect to Dynatrace Server? Or did you change anything else inside the collector folder?

It is possible to reinstall the collector by using command line.

First you need to uninstall the collector, afte that you can reinstall it.

Summary

1.Unregister the service that was registered by default at install-time:

%DT_HOME%/dtcollector.exe -service uninstall
or sc delete "dynaTrace Collector 6.3 "

2.General syntax to register the Collector to connect to a Dynatrace Server on a different machine:

%DT_HOME%/dtcollector -service install -server <Server(Host)Name>[:PortToConnectToServer] [-listen:PortToListenForAgents]
