I have appmon 7.1 running. The JVM utilization that Dynatrace is indicating is higher than the actual heap dump is.

We have 24GB memory allocated to the VM out of which 12GB is assigned to JVM. We have noticed that when the JVM utilization in Dynatrace was showing 51%, which means it must be consuming 6*GB memory, at the same time we collected heap dumps and the size of heap dump was 1.85GB which is much lesser and around 15% of 12GB. I would like to know how JVM utilization works in Dynatrace and what could be the cause of such discrepancy.

I think dynatrace is showing you all memory that is allocated for the process, heap dump has information about memory used. If I'm wrong please somebody, correct me 🙂
