I am trying to find some guidance on how I can integrate AppMon into a .net WPF or Windows Forms Type Application. Searching through the forum posts, I do see a few threads with replies to them which say it is possible, but none of them has any type of explanation as to how one would go about doing so.
Looking through your documentation, it appears that your ADK Agent would most likely be what I need, but do you have a sample code you could share with me?
Thank you Babar. The video above covers Desktop Applications that are running on the Server Side in depth, using the native sensors. What I was looking for on the other hand, was an in depth view of how to use "Custom Tags" from a Client Side Application using the ADK to monitor end users using a Client Side Desktop Application.
Here is another video I found in the documentation section that gives a good introduction to this:
I also found a minimum amount of source code here:
Obviously this isn't a full example, but it's a start. If anyone else has any other code samples they can share (Client Side Desktop Applications) please share them here.
Below is one more performance clinic about 'Monitoring Native Applications with Dynatrace'.
In this video an overview of the ADK and walk you through a demo on how to instrument native applications as well as how to tag your custom protocols.
I hope this should be helpful.
Thank you Babar and Dave! These links are very helpful.
Quick question regarding authentication. When using the ADK, how is authentication handled if referencing the DLL from a Client Application? Does the DLL use the credentials of the user the Client Application is running under or does it require for me to pass the Credentials as part of the call?
