Is it normal that Appmon agent itself utilising 5 GB RAM on the server?

hi Team,

We ahve observed that Appmon Java agents utilising nearly 5 GB if RAM on the application servers? Is it normal?

1. How to reduce the usage of RAM by agent on the App server?

2. Does DT Java agent uses Heap memory defined for Application server or separate memory?

Thanks,

Sree

The agent lives inside the application process and should not be taking up 5GB by itself. Do you have screenshots of the application heap usage before and after agent installation?

hi Shane,

We have total 85 GB of RAM on that server. let me check for screen shots. Does it uses Heap memory or OS memory?

Hi Sree,

that's _not_ normal, the memory overhead of the appmon agent should be in the low 100s MB range. What version are you using?

The java agent uses both java heap and native memory, depends on the type of data.

Please make sure that you've got an up-to-date version running and if that doesn't fix your issue, please open a support ticket with a support archive and if possible a mem-dump of the java application process. Thanks,

best regards,

Peter
