JMX Value Computation

Hi All,

We have a requirement to trigger alert when the Weblogic JDBC measure "Active Connections High Count" reaches 80% of the Max capacity set. Currently we are able to collect both the values from the JMX Measure also using the weblogic monitoring plug-in but we are not able to compute the value as said above (Active Connection High Count >= Max Capacity *0.80).

Can anyone share any suggestions on how we can achieve this. Looking forward for responses as this is a requirement for migration of our current JMX monitoring to dynatrace.

Thank You

Regards

Sakthi

Unfortunately there isn't really an easy option to get a calculation like that within AppMon. The only option I can think of (that I can't provide much details on implementation for) would be to pull both of those measures into the monitor plugin (probably via a rest call to a dashboard saved on the server) performing the calculation and then returning the calculation as the measure for the monitor. This is definitely not a simple solution but at the moment the only calculation type measure is for a rate (dividing one measure by another) and even this cannot be used for creating incidents since it literally just calculates the two measures when charting as opposed to storing a new measure.
