Java agent configuration for shell scripts

sachins
Guide

Hi,

I have a java based shell script, Which i want to configure in dyntrace. I know, We can do that by adding agent in Java based application & i may or may not get the purepath for the same.

But in order to configure the same, I will have to add the DT argument. The shell script which i want to monitor is using default Java. Can anyone suggest the path java properties where i can add my dynatrace argument.

Hello Sachin,

I would suggest you to watch the below videos to capturing and Analyze PurePaths for Batch Jobs, Custom Event Handlers, Console and Rich Client for the non-web bases applications.

In your specific case, I suggest adding the parameter to the final call, something like this:

#!/bin/sh
# the existing multiline classpath definition
export CLASSPATH=...
# the dynatrace parameters:
DT_AGENTPATH=-agentpath:/location/of/your/libdtagent.so=name=...
# the exisiting call modified with the new options
java ${DT_AGENTPATH} com.ducont.service.HttpService
exit
