Hi. I have installed and configured a log file monitor plugin to check for a text pattern in an OS log file on a remote linux host. I am a little confused as to the purpose of the Linux Username and Linux Password fields in the monitor settings window. Can anyone confirm the reason for these fields please, I am hoping I can leave them blank when using the Public Key for SSH Type or are the required for login to the collector or remote host?
I have configured the following settings ... amongst others:
Connection Type: SSH
SSH Type: Public Key
Linux Username: ????
Linux Password: ????
SSH Key: /appl/dynatrace/.ssh/id_rsa.pem
Also, one other question, will this plugin work for Solaris hosts as well as Linux and AIX?
As per the comments in the bottom of 'Log file Monitor' is supporting the 'Solaris' and 'AIX' platforms.
|For SSH connections, defines whether a password or public key is used for the SSH connection. Currently, only .pem keys are supported.|
