Low dynaTrace Server Memory, Low Collector Memory after upgrade to 7.1 AppMon

How do you modify Appmon 7.1 memory sizing manually (ini file changes)?

What is the impact of moving to xLarge within the application without meeting CPU/Memory requirements?

ini files excerpted:

# Since dynaTrace 6.0 '-Xmx' and '-Xms' VM arguments are ignored. Please use the '-memory' parameter instead.

-memory

large

System Requirements excerpted:

Large
750 agents | 3,500 transactions/sec
1616GB

xLarge 32GB
1,600 agents | 5,000 transactions/sec
24

Current config:

Large 16 cores, 24 GB

In collector you can used '-xmx" and "-xms" arguments to manually memory sizing.

In server i prefer do any changes from AppMon client. (It is more safety).

Of course you can change this setting from file with used -memory parameter but i think that it's not supported solution.

Thanks, the collector memory has been doubled and it solved that the collector issue. But I still have a question on the server.

Current config is 16 cores, 24 GB (Large). xLarge calls for 24 cores, 32 GB. Should the box be upgraded prior to the config change from Large to xLarge? Will the config change alone help?

Thanks,

Ken

Of course, if you have free resources on the machine, it should help

Thanks, resources are money. Hopefully tuning may be the first step.serverhealth.png

Hello,

When server have high memory, the number of transaction per seconde is between 3500 to 5000 (and more).

I think you need to upgrade to xLarge.

You have some informations here :

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/doc/appmon/inst...

You can open a support ticket if you want to know if a tunning is possible before upgrade to xLarge.

Regards,

Mathieu
