Messaging Dashlet Empty

Hi all, first post here.

I'm a new starter to Dynatrace 6.3 and i'm trying to get some visibility on our integration messages. I'm currently seeing no values in the "Messaging" dashlet, can someone please point me at how this is configured?

I'm simulating normal usage in the application, so there are messages being generated. I've started looking into the sensor configuration, but I have not noticed any effect from the changes I have tried. (Captureing pure paths of JMS, capturing content etc)

Kind Regards,

Tom

Hello Thomas,

Did you configure your WebSphere Message Broker / WebSphere Integration Bus according to following documentation link:

Hi Babar,

We are using WebLogic and have installed it according to: https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/...

Incase i'm missing somthing my JVM parameter looks like this:

agentpath:"C:\Program Files/dynaTrace/Dynatrace 6.5/agent/lib64/dtagent.dll"=name=PC_Agent

Overall it is working, I can see the general transaction flow, drill down to purepaths/db etc.

But nothing is captured for the Messaging dashlet, i'm not seeing my applications "send" methods being called or the transactions being sent.

Cheers,

Tom

Hello Thomas,

Enable or disable capturing the message content value as a string. This is only useful if the content is readable (e.g. XML).

To get a complete PurePath for the whole asynchronous path, we use the JMS Receive Entry Point Sensor and might be in your case needs to be configure.

Can you check the following documentation link:

Hi again,
After some digging on my side, it seems that the Guidewire products I'm using has its own

proprietary database backed messaging system. This doesn't want to work with the standard messaging tools in Dynatrace. But I have had some luck, all messages from our configuration go through an overloaded "send" function. So I have created a new sensor to start a new purepath on all calls to this function... This at least allows me to filter my method calls to see these messages starting their journey.

I have found a couple of things online about Dynatrace and Guidewire working together, but only for ClaimCenter a few years ago.

Do you have any more suggestions around the message monitoring?

And do you have any recent resources about Guidewire working with Dynatrace?

Kind Regards,

Tom

Hello Tom,

Nice to hear that you were able to do some activities.

I do not know much more about Guidewire, there is a following plugin on the GitHub.

You can also ask from the Dynatrace Support as an information.

Babar
