I am aware that we use below command to upgrade from one version to another version in the same server .
-jar dynatrace-migration.jar -migration -sourceDTHome "C:\Program
Files\dynaTrace\dynaTrace 6.5" -targetDTHome "C:\Program
Can anyone tell how to copy configurations from one server to another.
Anyone have already done it?
Is it possible.
My requirement is to migrate Dynatrcae from Windows 2008 server to Windows 2016.
How to mention source and destination path to run above migration jar file.
Thnaks a lot in advance.
Hello @Karthikayini M.
Below are the two important steps and rest are the same in the upgrade and migration guide.
Create a migration archive:
java -jar dynatrace-migration.jar -migration -sourceDTHome "<DT_HOME_OLD>" -targetArchiveDir "<ARCHIVE_DIR>"
<DT_HOME_OLD> is the old AppMon installation path. A
<MIGRATION_ARCHIVE> file named
<Server_name>_<creation_dateTime>.dtma is created in
Keep the resulting file as permanent backup.
On the target host, as Administrator or configured user, migrate the data to
<DT_HOME_NEW> using the following:
java -jar dynatrace-migration.jar -migration -sourceArchive "<ARCHIVE_DIR>/<MIGRATION_ARCHIVE>" -targetDTHome "<DT_HOME_NEW>"
Backups and migration logs are created in a new directory in
java -jar dynatrace-migration.jar -migration -sourceDTHome "</opt/Dynatrace-7.1/>" -targetArchiveDir "</opt/dtbackup/>"
java -jar dynatrace-migration.jar -migration -sourceArchive "</opt/dtbackup/<MIGRATION_ARCHIVE>" -targetDTHome "/opt/Dynatrace-7.2/"
